CHIM: A web biography of David Seymour

The International Center of Photography (ICP) has its main location at 1130 Fifth Avenue and 94th Street, New York City. The ICP/Midtown Gallery is at 1133 Avenue of the Americas (43rd Street). ICP was founded in 1974 to promote and display photographic arts and to help carry on the traditions established by four photojournalists (Werner Bischof, Robert Capa, David Seymour, and Dan Weiner), all of whom lost their lives in the pursuit of their commitments.

ICP's broad range of programs is devoted to increasing public appreciation of photography through exhibitions, education at all levels, and the exchange of ideas.

Cornell Capa is the founding director of the ICP. The works of David Seymour, and those of his colleagues Robert Capa, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and other hundreds of photographers have been exhibited here. The International Center of Photography has also established archives with a collection of outstanding photographic prints, mainly of the twentieth century.

More in-depth information can be found under the official ICP Website. This site has a section on David Seymour.
